International Student Fellowship at MTSU
You Are Our Guests
You are embarking on one of the greatest adventures of your life. You have decided to study in a foreign country. We at International Student Fellowship, ISF, are glad you have chosen the U.S. and MTSU. Our goal is to help you in any way we can to make your time in America interesting, exciting and enjoyable. We believe the diversity of today's world is seen in the microcosm that is the college campus. We hope you will benefit from your time here just as we are sure we will benefit from you being here.
The purpose of this site is to help you learn a little more about our group, how it can benefit you and to keep up with events we have planned especially for you. We will be taking trips, organizing intermural sports teams, providing free rides to shopping and the airport, fun outings like camping and bowling, holding banquets in your honor, Bible studies for Christians, international movie nights and friendship programs designed to help you meet American students and families, and much, much more. Simply put, you should find something for everyone with ISF.
Something else you will find on this site is a set of documents that might help you understand American culture a little better. These have been derived by different authors who have worked with internationals for many, many years. We believe you will find them very helpful as you adjust to life in the U.S. They cover things such as dealing with culture shock, understanding Americans and understanding American values. Take time to read over them and return often to refresh youself as new issues arise.
For events, we team up with two organizations; InterFace with Harold Bryer, and the International Student Services office on campus. We'd love to see you soon. We try to keep the cost to a minimum, many times FREE, and plan them so you can still spend time studying. We hope you'll enjoy these activities, which have been designed with you in mind. Make sure to check in often, as we will be adding new events and activities all the time. If you have something you'd like for us to add, be sure to use the contact page to let us know and we'll look at the possibility of adding it.
